Is this possibly GPU related?

Dont think so. I have a nVidia GTX 1060 6GB and have no problem with version 2020.3.6 but problems with 2020.4.0 (compiled at 29th of November).
If you look on SF into the history of the file '/Effects/model-transparent.eff', you can see there are big updates in August of 2021 so that the effect work also for HDR and kill out the old Rembrandt stuff. Looks like there are changes that not fit well.
But i have no clue about shader and effects, i can only test and report.

Pretty sure not. I have been using the 757 for some time nows. I have been on next through most of last year and all fine. It was after an update of the nightly when I saw the issue and as stated earlier on my laptop again using 2020.4.0 I haven't updated for a while and it's all fine.

I just updated now and the issue still remains

I searched in the forum and found 2 things :
1) all faces with texture in PNG format / grayscale subformat are not displayed - after conversion to RGB subformat, all is OK - source viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37042&p=363869&hilit=png+textures#p363869 and viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37042&p=363869&hilit=png+textures#p364038
2) problems with clouds - in this case conversion to RGB subformat did not helped - viewtopic.php?f=37&t=35843&hilit=png+textures&start=15#p355584 and next posts

I don't know how this 2 year old problem was solved. Check all Your .PNG textures - if some file is in grayscale subformat, convert it to RGB (gimp can do it nicely)

It was working fine on 2 of my PCs for a year now with the latest nightly it's an issue. Even using 2020.3 it's fine.
There is discussion ongoing on the mailing list that something was removed from the effects that is a possible cause.
