him i just updated to the nightly build, but cannot find where to enable ALS, neither in the launcher nor in the rendering options window. Right now i'm stuck on the default renderer. Could someone help me?

ALS is the only renderer from now on, so the mentions and options for it were removed from the UI. You should notice no difference in visuals, in the background it is still there and working all the time.

FYI: the new default is a merge of the former default renderer, ALS and even Rembrandt into what's internally known as the compositor.

A small correction:
ALS is disabled in the lower two quality settings which are mainly meant for low spec laptop users.

So set the quality level to three or higher and you'll get ALS rendering.
