Can't see anything (including the GUI), only the sky

Postby McDonnellDouglasMD88 » Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:23 pm

Hi
Recently I got an bug. The problem is that I can't see anything. No GUI, no plane, no scenery, only the sky.
I remember tweaking some settings, I can't remember the name but I think they are perspective settings with the left_eye and right_eye preset. I moved the offset sliders and suddenly everything disappeared. I only could see the sky and the audio. I can also move my camera around. Nothing else.
Would there be any way to fix this?

Specs:
OS - Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
FlightGear version: 2020.3.1
Processor: Intel Core i5
Graphic Card: Mobility Radeon HD 5570, vRAM: 1GB (I usually get 25-40 FPS)
Any answers appreciated!

Simples way is to reset your config or delete it. FG will touch a new one with default settings.

That did not work apparently.
I also tried downloading the AppImage version (I used the PPA version) that also didn't work because the same data was here. Reset from FlightGear menu also didn't work.
Maybe ill try deleting every traces of FlightGear.
Thank you for your answer.

Hi!

You should be able to reset the steographic options with the following command (either on the command-line, or in Settings > Additional Settings of the launcher)
Code: Select all
--prop:/sim/rendering/osg-displaysettings/stereo-mode=OFF

You've probably set the screen distance to 0m in the stereoscopic dialog, as that results in a black screen. I've just pushed a commit to next (and release/2020.3) to raise the minimum of the dialog's slider to 10cm in future versions of FlightGear. A screen at 0m doesn't make sense anyway.
