Menu flickering

Just got this today, having a problem with very bad text flickering. Can't go into the Help menu to look at the tutorial, because I can't even see the options. The loading screen is also a visual mess of glitched colors. Is there any way to fix any of these issues?

Hello!

I think you need to provide more information about your computer. Which OS, which version of FG, which hardware (graphics card/drivers)?

If you have a graphic card from AMD, use this as 'additional option':
Code: Select all
--prop:/sim/gui/current-style=0

I'm using Windows 10, I downloaded what's listed on the sight as the most recent stable release, 2018.3.6, and I have a Radeon RX560

I remember this problem because it was where I made my first post in this forum.

Changing the menu style as WoodSTokk suggested fixes the problem. You can also switch the style via the menu ("cycle-gui"), but it can be difficult if you don't see much because of the flickering. It's possible though, see the old thread from from 2016: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=28713

I tried that, but that didn't fix the issue

Can you maybe explain a bit how to do what he suggested? I'm not exactly computer savy so I don't know how I'd even do that

Add this to the launcher additional settings list. You currently may not have any additional settings in the list.

--prop:/sim/gui/current-style=0

This is interesting, this only happens in Windows. I use the exact same card on Linux and non of this is necessary and the "loading screen" isn't glitched either.

what driver version are you using, @wlbragg? and which one is the OP using?
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Thanks a lot for the help, because I had the same problems. I use a laptop with AMD Ryzen 4000 and a AMD Radeon graphic card. However, despite applying the little line of code you suggested, in the in-game checklist menu, there is no longer the buttons to indicate where are the buttons; i was on the Beechcraft 1900D.
