In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post.

- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?
- what graphics card do you have?
- does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport?
- is there any output printed to the console (black window)?
- copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher).
- please upload a screenshot of the problem.

If you experience FlightGear crashes, please report a bug using the issue tracker (can be also used for feature requests).
To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article. If you are seeing corrupted/broken textures, please see this article.

Asymmetric FOV

Postby Soitanen » Mon Sep 25, 2017 3:17 pm

Hello, all!

I'm not feeling like novice user, but experience some problem.
My task: make 3 slave computers working as image generators in flight simulator with 3 projectors and curved screen installed. 4th computer works as master. I sucsessfully solved slaving task, but for one of image generator I need asymmetric FOV. As I can understand, I can easily tune it via frustums (readme.multiscreen), but at this point I have problems.
I can't understand, how to enable frustum control in FG.

I have created camera.xml
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<PropertyList include="preferences.xml">
  <sim>
    <rendering>
      <camera-group>
        <camera>
          <frustum>
            <top>0.133</top>
            <bottom>-0.133</bottom>
            <left>-.1668</left>
            <right>.1668</right>
            <near>0.4</near>
            <far>120000.0</far>
          </frustum>
        </camera>
      </camera-group>
    </rendering>
  </sim>
</PropertyList>

I run simulator via Qt launcher with this addition: --config=C:\FlightGear\data\camera.xml
But I don't have /sim/rendering/camera-group/camera/frustum branch, and picture still without any changes.

What I'm doing wrong? I feel that answer will be easy, but right now can't solve the question.

Just short video, how FG looks in simulator

There is noticeable blending between left, center and right projections.

I solved my problem from other side: just made from scratch new warping and blending in my software and front screen do not need to be asymmetric. Now fighting with time synchronization, weather... Without real visibility while picture looks too whitish.
