New launcher: "Ground textures: Winter" is bugged

When in the new launcher I set ground textures to Winter, I get no ground textures at all.

When I then go into Menu-Environment-Environment settings and look at the dropdown box, it has "current time" in it, the textures work if I then select winter in the dropdown box.

this was seen and reported on the dev list a few weeks ago... it was confirmed by bugman, IIRC... not sure if it is related to the new --launcher or not, though... you can read the thread here on gmane... http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.games.flightgear.devel/79780/
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
