OBJECT_SIGN error?

Postby wkitty42 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 10:32 pm

what does this OBJECT_SIGN error mean? i suspect is has something to do with one of the stg files in /home/*myuser*/.fgfs/TerraSync/Terrain/w090n30/w087n36/... that because i had to restart the sim before arriving at this area due to the "Langolier factor" (tiles not loading)... this was one that hadn't loaded after 20 minutes of hovering in the UFO just before crossing the tile boundry... the reload cleared up whatever the problem was (only about 2.5Gig of RAM used at that point) and then this one took its time coming in, too...

"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

It means some airport signs do not follow the current sign specification. In your case, a @B sign ("Runway Distance Remaining") must have a width of four or five characters, but all the signs listed in the log specify just one letter after the sign type and have therefore a width equal to one. (Perhaps the airport author wanted to use a location sign - @L - but specified a "Runway distance remaining" one by mistake?)

That, however, should not interfere with the tile loading process - malformed signs are just not rendered, but the rest of the airport should load.

thank you, elgaton... that makes sense because there was an airport just rendered in front of my craft at that time... i forget which airport but i should be able to find it again... correcting the problem is another matter, though ;)
