Default visibility

New to Flightgear. The default visibility for the Basic weather is always 16093.4 meters above 5000 feet and 19312.1 meters below 5000 feet each time I startup Flightgear 3.0. This is a very low visibility. I would like the default visibility to be around 50000 meters or 50 kilometers. But I can't figure out how to change these default values. I have to manually change these everytime I start Flightgear. Setting visibility in the command line doesn't work.

OS is Windows 7.

Try this on command line instead, should give fair weather with 30 miles visibility:

--metar="XXXX 012345Z 15003KT 30SM SCT041 FEW200 20/08 Q1015 NOSIG"

The 30SM part tells the visibility.
