Hmm … it might be the DDS cache, yes.

I seen similar effect some years ago on my laptop, it was caused with faulty linux opensource GPU driver for AMD FirePro GPU. After switch to AMD proprietary driver, problem disappeared. Some old nVidia Nouveau opensource driver had problem with flickering textures on AI aircraft, I observed building and apron textures on the all airplanes in the vicinity. But it was very long time ago.

THE TEXTURE OF A LIGHTHOUSE AND A TREE INSTEAD OF THE SUN - IS THIS PROGRAM GOING CRAZY ?

At the same time I got wrong instrument textures:

I had the DDS texture cache disabled. Also no multiplayers were around. So, WHAT THE **** IS THAT ?

It is the nature's way of telling you where to go and how to navigate there :D
If, at the same time, your computer starts playing "Always the Sun" (by Stranglers) just accept that explanation and enjoy ;)

But honestly, no idea, could be some hardware issue too. Cool looking sky though.

That sky you get only with ALS ! :) Looks like it's all the fault of the DDS cache … at least the wrong ground and instrument textures look exactly like the screenshots on http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Troubl ... _Artifacts. For the sun, I have no clue though …

Maybe you should check cpu usage.
Probably you are mining bitcoin for someone else.

I also had a strange finding, probably/maybe related to this:
https://github.com/HHS81/c182s/issues/470

I had the interiour shadows projected onto the propeller disc...
