Auto Pilot Settings Interface.

Is there anyway of reducing the size of the interface. I fly with it open to use like a real AP to change settings on the go but it takes up a lot of room even on 32" Screen.

Have you considered using another computer for the autopilot panel? I use a Tinker Board with a touch screen for my flight data. You can interface a Raspberry Pi, Tinker Board, etc with a Python touch screen display using UDP as the communication interface. I played with the radio interface, and it worked good. Haven't tried the autopilot yet.

I would be amazed if I found nobody here hasn't already done this.

Sorry you totally lost me. I am not a techie in any way. I can follow instructions as I have done previously on here, but that's the extent of my knowledge. Thanks anyway.

Is there anyway of activating the Generic AP if planes like the Cessna doesn't have a toggle to do this.

no, not easily... if you want to use the AP in the c172p, you have to use the one it contains which is very basic as the one in real life...

you can activate it by editing the craft files and undoing the specific code that blocks the generic AP but that scenario is not supported by the team... plus you will get only heading bug and altitude working, IIRC... easier to learn to use the builtin AP...

Just spent last hour watching a couple of videos on how to use the 140 AP. The only difficulty I found when using it on the Navion and same as Cessna it;s on the right side so using mouse to alter functions it quite difficult whilst trying to control the plane. Although the video does say if you get level flight you can activate the AP and the plane will fly itself then you can make any changes you want.

yeah, i generally get off the ground and then turn on the AP ASAP... then adjust climb rate to 700 or less... turning the AP on gets you wings level... once i'm level and climbing OK, then i adjust my desired ALT and check my heading bug... from there on, it is a breeze until landing time...

FWIW: i generally don't do training vids other than to just watch... i can't ever remember the steps/items... but if i read stuff, like the AP pdf guide, i'm better off... i can even have the AP printed out and handy nearby to refer to without having to pause and go dig out some vid somewhere...
