FGpanel on Raspberry Pi command line (not web panel)

Hi all,

Has anyone recently had a go at displaying FGpanel on a Raspberry Pi?

Just considering having a go, but didn't want to start if I'm going to run into issues with later releases of flightgear or raspbian.

I know people will suggest Phi, or web-panel, but I want to put something together that's not reliant on a desktop gui or web browser, making it quicker to boot, and less resource hungry.

Also interested in somehow using the GPIO pins of this raspberry Pi to operate some real world indicators, such as the undercarriage indicator lights, etc...

Cheers, Scott.

Hey Scott

I've not tried, but I'm familiar with compiling simgear & flightgear using cmake (as well as using the download_and_compile.sh script) so I'm willing to give this a go on a spare model B I have (512M 2011.12 version board)

should be fun :)

Thanks buddy,

I love Linux, but compiling packages from source is still a bit new on me, so hopefully this will be a good learning experience for me!

I could do with an idiots guide to getting this set up, then another one on how to configure instruments.

Then into the realm of getting the pi to read the property tree and maybe use some nasal or python script to interface with the GPIO pins.

Cheers, Scott.
