Sending GPS position (NMEA) to bluetooth port on PC

Postby tcx32fr » Sat Sep 16, 2017 6:01 pm

Hello

Being a new user of FlightGear, I would like to use it to betatest VFR Android application and I would be highly interested to send GPS position (NMEA) to my bluetooth port towards the android device to simulate a flight. I found a post MAC related but nothing for a WIN7 PC. I am not a software expert, so would it be possible to get an explanation about the set of parameters/options to add to a fgfs line of command ?

Thanks a lot

I have solved the problem:

in the settings windows poping up during the init, you have to add the following set of parameters:

--nmea=serial,out,5,COMx,4800

where x = number of the Bluetooth port

Nevertheless, ramdomly the initialisation with such parameters fails: the initialization remains stuck on the message "Position Initialization", I have to kill FGFS in such a case, and the log is showing the very last sentence (and nothing more):

"view:3:G:\Jenkins\workspace\Windows-release\flightgear\src\Viewer\splash.cxx:678:Splash screen progress finalize-position".

I don't know if this issue is known and if I should post this issue somewhere else in the forum

Thanks
