jsbsim (standalone) csv files use as a input to flightgear?

Postby niroshan9 » Sun May 12, 2013 7:52 pm

hello, i'm totally noob to fg and I've started doing some test flight studies using jsbsim standalone. i got test cases output as csv files from jsbsim. is it possible to input these csv files directly to flightgear and visualize graphically ? if so can someone suggest me a method ? thanks in advance :)

I don't know about the CSV files, but you can send flight data directly from JSBSim to FlightGear for visualization of your test cases.

One example which I use:
Run FlightGear with
Code: Select all
fgfs --fdm=external --native-fdm=socket,in,120,,5550,udp --airport=SP01 --aircraft=Short_Empire

Then start JSBSim (in this case from the root of the JSBSim directory, otherwise you need a --root= argument) with
Code: Select all
JSBSim --logdirectivefile=data_output/flightgear.xml --realtime --script=scripts/Short_S23_4.xml

FlightGear doesn't need to be restarted after each JSBSim run - just keep it running - which saves time.

I am totally new to flightgear. I have a CSV file generated by our application. I need to use this CSV file as input to flightgear and the flight should fly in flightgear according to the values in CSV. How can I input this CSV to flightgear? Can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.
