FGRun and Matlab Simulink question

Postby jgaboo » Mon Mar 06, 2017 8:44 pm

I have successfully integrated FlightGear and Simulink. One small issue - when my simulation runs, the aircraft flies in Flight gear but there is no scenery or a definable horizon. Like I'm flying IFR. I don't see any command line entries that I can add to my FGRun file that would help.

Any ideas? Thanks.

What version of FlightGear are you using? FGRun is no longer supported since a few FlightGear releases back.

Also, have you made sure that FlightGear knows where to look for scenery?

I have 2016.4.4. If FGRun is no longer supported then how does one integrate FlightGear with Matlab Simulink?

I have no experience with Simulink, but FlightGear allow configuration in a few other ways than FGRun. FlightGear is all about properties, and for interfacing, protocols.

On the top of my head you can set up properties either using command line options (in particular "--prop:name=value"), a separate configuration file (in turn invoked through the command line, specifically "--config=path"), or by editing the startup configuration files (less recommended).

I think that these FlightGear wiki articles may be of help:
