FGRun error

Postby MasterMWF » Sun Oct 04, 2015 5:24 pm

When I start fgfs with FGRun I get the following error in the log window

fgfs: symbol lookup error: fgfs: undefined symbol: _ZN7simgear6canvas5GroupC2ERK9SGWeakPtrINS0_6CanvasEERK11SGSharedPtrI14SGPropertyNodeERKSt3mapISsPKS8_St4lessISsESaISt4pairIKSsSE_EEEPNS0_7ElementE

fgfs was working fine yesterday. I did not change anything or update or upgrade the computer.

Is there anyway to fix this with a limited internet connection?

Which aircraft? Does it do the same thing with any other Aircraft other than the one you were using?

It does the same thing with all aircraft. It does it when I try to start fgfs from the command line. Same error, CLI or GUI

I am having the same error since yesterday. And this isn't related to FGRun because running fgfs via the terminal outputs the same error. I also have no clue what it is about..

At least it's not just me. Sometimes I have mechanical issues with my computer. There is a loose nut in front of the keyboard.

I see you are also on Linux, are you also using saiarcot895's PPA? I had the impression the problem started after my last upgrade. Right now, my flightgear package is version 3.7.0~12110+gitb49dd.

Cheers,

Yes, I am using saiarcot895's PPA. I also have the same package as you do with the exception that my package is for Ubuntu Trusty 1. I did not upgrade the package before this happened. I specifically avoided upgrading as the last time I did the program shut down after the upgrade and I did not have internet access for 2 months and could not use the program. This time I tested the sim in Anchorage before I left to go to the Great White North and it worked fine until I got into the middle of nowhere and it failed. This is very frustrating.

@MasterMWF The problem has been solved, simply update the package flightgear from saiarcot895's PPA and you should be able to run FG again.
