Sqlite error, FG crashes

Postby FL2070 » Tue Sep 08, 2015 4:36 pm

Whenever I try to start flightgear, this happens:

Image
Code: Select all
Sqlite error: attempt to write to a readonly database (8) while running:
        received DELETE_FROM groundnet edge

And then FG crashes.

What does this mean?

I see you are Windows, so go to C:/Users/FL2070/AppData/Roaming/flightgear.org and delete the navdata file. Close FGRUN if open, then open it again and load as normal. Should work!

Actually, I just got this error and removing navdata.cache results in the launcher crashing immediately.

You can always try the --restore-defaults command line option. This will rebuild the navigation data cache, if it is broken or missing, and reset all your settings.

Yeah, same for me this morning.
1. Console shows wierd errors with squlite, then fails to find parking position xyz
2. I delete navcache, sometimes, it regens automatically, others it still crashes, like it is not told to regen
3. If it doesn't I rename flightgear.org to flightgear.org.bak, run flightgear, close once I get into the cockpit, and put my stuff (export, autosave, aircrft saved settings etc) aback in, leaving fgfs.pid the two logs, and he old navcache out.

Unfortunately, the NavCache feature has become kinda infamous for rendering FG unusable for a number of folks, especially Windows users - even though it is a great feature/idea in theory, but we're really getting too little constructive feedback to help narrow down what is going on here, i.e. in terms of corrupted tables, but also the navcache taking ages to rebuild.

Is there anything I can tell you?
I have the corrupted folder backed up and can give you any feedback required that does not need me to install linux or something :)
What tests exactly would you like?

It is not that it takes ages, but it crashes wihout a rebuild. Deleting the flightgear.org folder or preferably renaming is he only way to keep it safe.
