Flight Gear Wizard stops respnding

Postby LDHYA34750 » Mon Jun 01, 2015 11:52 am

I need some help! Whenever I click the 777 aircraft, my wizard stops responding immediately.

Computer Stats: Windows Vista Home Prenium
Model: Hewlett-Packard s3480d
Rating: 3.0, Windows Experience Index
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2DuoCPU E4600@2.40GHz 2.40GHz
RAM memory: 3.0GB
System type: 32-bit Operating System

This computer i'm using was bought way back in 2009, it's 6 years old now. That's why the performance of it sucks. I intend to upgrade it to windows 7 later. Thanks for any feedback :).

Many of the 777 variants are quite heavy (in megabytes), so you might want to wait for it to load. You could also test to select another aircraft and remove the tick the "3D Previev" in the top right of the aircraft selection page of the wizard/FGRun and then try selecting the 777 again (though you will maybe see a splash screen instead).

If it will take a very long time to load it for the preview, you could expect it to take even a little more time when loading it into FlightGear (as well as when they show up in multiplayer).

The fact is that most of the airliners are quite heavy. To not get interruptions when they load while I am in multiplayer I have moved those aircraft folders into a folder named "Disabled aircraft".
