Cannot get Flighgear to run completely

Postby Tony D » Mon Jan 02, 2012 3:33 am

OS: Windows 7, Home Premium, 64bit
MeM: 8GB
GC: Intel(R) HD family Graphics Card
FG: Version 2.4.0
does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport? Don't know. The only aircraft I use is Cessna's C172P
is there any output printed to the console (black window)? Yes.

I would like somebody to help me to try resolve a persistent issue.
When I run the program I cannot get past press the Page Up key to increase throttle. It keeps saying Not enough throttle, press the Page Up key a little bit more. This goes on and on. If somebody is running FG on Windows 7 and you think you may know why I can't get past press the Page Up key I sure would appreciate your help.

I assume you're trying to run the Takeoff tutorial.

If you have a joystick, then you should use your joystick's throttle to throttle up. If not, then I'd recommend holding down the Page Up key -- it takes a lot of presses to get to full throttle (and holding it triggers key repeat).

I hope this helps.

Is this on a laptop? I recently noticed on mine that I the numpad no longer supports "press-and-hold". To throttle up, you need to press PgUp countless of times...
You can use a mouse instead (Right click to go to "Cross-hair" mode, then press-and-hold the middle mouse button (or scrollwheel) and move your mouse up) to increase throttle.
