Eurofighter showing off... Did the pilot mean it this way? I guess not THAT close... (after 1:10)
"There are no problems in the air. The only problem is hitting the ground"

Get my L-159 ALCA from the FGUK hangar. If you crash it, things gonna go boom!

While I do think that while the pilot had some margins, if needed, to push the throttle quite a bit further forward and pull a bit harder, going that low for the sake of the show might be less safe than preferable.

Had he been coming in with that high alpha and on full throttle, it for have sure been a god time to move back a bit from the runway.

Displaced landing thresholds are a reduction of the length available for landings. They can be used for take offs and for the end of the landing roll.

Image
Runway diagram, Displaced threshold on Wikimedia Commons.

Here is a very good reason why you really should not use them for touch down during landings:

Airport: 52F, Northwest Regional Airport, Roanoke, Denton County, Texas (FAA airport data)

NTSB Accident ID: CEN13LA041, NTSB preliminary accident report

No fatalities. Yay! :D

EDIT: The scary thing is that one of the YouTube comments mentioned that there actually are flight instructors who teach their student pilots to do use the displaced threshold for landings... :?

727-230 is by far my favorite airline aircraft in FG even it's cockpit equipment is poor, its behavior on air is awesome heavy feeling. I love 727-230 is the kind of plane to fly on a visual, manual, right base pattern.

Please enjoy this video, but enjoy also FG 727-230 ----o0o----
Awesome oily with 8 flaps' position.

Do you like those kind of approaches? then try Albenga, and also Lugano in FG, try some TOGAs, and tell me how was your experience flying the FG's 727-230. Those airports are difficult. However I don't know why is easy for me to land in those airports than in SanDiego KSAN for me the most difficult app of FG. Maybe because is flat terrain with a light slope.

Swedish J 35J Draken taking off, flying and landing at F10 Ängelholm/Barkåkra 2002, DailyMotion. (12 minutes, Swedish with English captions.)

From a blog post (unfortunately in Swedish): Malte, POS och Johan 56 (as in Mats "Malte" Lindskog, the pilot, Bengt-Arne "POS" Persson, the crew chief, and "Johan 56", the aircraft individual), at the Swedish blog "Lae - inte bara en stad på Nya Guinea" (Lae - not only a town on New Guinea).

EDIT: A rather different British Airways take off:

EDIT2: Air to air refuelling (AAR) close call:

EDIT3: One word: Alternate! How can he possibly believe he can pull of a landing in 50 kt gusts...

Possible birdstrike, compressor stall (bang) and aborted takeoff. Airbus A330, Thomas Cook Airlines, Manchester Airport:

EDIT: T-45 birdstrike and return to runway (apologies for the poor video quality):

A near miss with the ground. Some of you might remember a video with a Tipsy Nipper in flat spin that just barely recovered. Here the pilot is describing the incident:

Ever worried about those mud streaks behind the wheel wells?

Near incident with a not so impressive climb rate... :? Got there in the cold morning and leaving in the hot afternoon (i.e. forgetting density altitude) or just rounding down the weight of each pallet?

Beautiful Icelandic scenery. :D

Scary take off. Notice that he did not use flaps and that the wing does not pass above the trees but rather through the trees.

Two student pilot crashes. They both seem to have had too little throttle and/or too high nose.

Harrier takeoff and landing (no music, just raw footage :D ):

Turbulent 767 crosswind landing. Can you say aeroelasticity?
