Hi,
What I don't get is why there are no distress calls. For AF446 it appears, the crew was so busy with compter messages, they forgot everything else. And one of the MF-80 incidents mentioned in the article was because they had forgotten to switch on deicing, or so I have heard. Which then led to a number of simultan warnings and they lost the overview, but they had contact with the ATC and explained, they were unable to hold altitude, so there was some kind of distress call, even maybe not a formal declaration of an emergency. So, why no distress call in this case? Stall is one thing, but even then, the plane needs minutes to reach the sea surface ... and still no distress call! So stall couldn't have been the whole story, I guess?
