I think the blade's got caught in the crane's cable, one thing led to another and BOOM, helicopter down.

It's been in the news over here in Australia a fair bit.

Yet another Aussie crash, 2 dead in a light airplane crash in South-East Queensland, not to far from where I live.

It's a Super Cub, they have very powerful engines so they need only a few feet to take off. You'll notice he landed on an upward slope, to slow him down when he makes contact with the ground. Here is an external view of how he can do that:

TATL ops with a Boeing 737-800? What is this, I don't even...

I've heard 757s are pretty notorious on TATL, but a 738? I can't even imagine what it's like flying across the Atlantic in a 737.

The text under the YouTube video tells that it does a "pit stop" at Gander. Back to the golden day of jet aviation...

EDIT: By the way TATL isn't an airport code as I had assumed, but means trans-Atlantic.

@ Sealbhach:
Very impressive, what that bigfoot super cup can do, land and start again on less than 10m ... :o

Wow, at first (and second) I thought it was one of those photoshopped images. At third: what a story! Fits in the same category as Aloha Flight 243!

My thoughts as well. Seems to be the first US tail-less bomber.

They went out on a fully instrumented structural flight test mission, and they surely got back with results. Data that contributed to improvements on the B-52 as well as other aircraft. In a way they actually was at the right place at the right time.
