Real landing challenge

Postby eatdirt » Mon Mar 20, 2023 3:49 pm

I still cannot believe it. I am considering myself as a professional of these kind of bullshit stunts with flightgear, I would have never imagined someone to be mad enough to do it in real life...

Slow stall speed, nice strong, steady headwind. He was clear on the end and probably had enough altitude to recover if he overran, but I don't love the proximity to the structure off his left wing.

Only in Dubai, right! Gotta love it!

but I don't love the proximity to the structure off his left wing

Nor the wheels AGL at the edge of the platform. For the conditions, (wind speed at the time), it may have been necessary, but a few more kts of wind speed and he wouldn't have had to hit so close to the edge. That seemed like a huge, unnecessary risk.

Way cool though!

At the end of the video, the plane takes off from the same helipad. This is crazy...
