On your chosen flight tracker, you can still see her leaving a kangaroo trace in the sky. Really nice!

i didn't have any audio in the video... was John Travolta the pilot? i could see that happening...

Although we should be eternally grateful to Ch 7 for providing the live footage online, apparently the audio commentary was pretty rubbish (didn't hear it), liveATC was quite sufficient with heartfelt farewells from fire crews, ATC and so forth. From the plane: 'thanks, there are a few tears up here, can we have clearance to 3000ft?'. Probably recorded somewhere.

As John Travolta must have been busy, the company's first female captain was flying the departure. See also https://simpleflying.com/qantas-747-goodbye/
