Nice but here in te UK, all there flying cars, Hover bikes, Jet packs etc that are in development probably will never be allowed to operate in British skies. Its already quite expensive to gain a PPL, and I cant see the CAA ever letting anyone operate suh a vehicle without one, and if they do, they will never operate the way they were intended, as point to point transport.

Fully automated, perhaps?

PS: I'll throw in another concept : pal-v.com this company actually used FlightGear (+ Matlab) for the in-house simulator!
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

They probably might be (eventually) operating point to point - but then only under completely automatic control. Far too dangerous otherwise.

Ironically, that's the likely outcome of the flying car future, the ultimate promise of personal free mobility - no freedom at all.
