Apparently it still does (these fly just about as I did in FlightGear when first trying helis :lol: ): :wink:

RC Heli was one of my hobbies. I still have them but don't fly much anymore.
do you think we can have a RC Heil in FG ?
* less than 5kg
* constant 2000-3000rpm on the rotorhead
*+/-12deg pitch,
* electric motor.

I know that the bigger models are more impressive for the audience, but the smaller are more difficult to fly:

I just built a mini-tri copter from a kit sold by this goofy swedish guy. :-) (I can say that because I'm part swedish.) I'd love to see someone work on a range of multi-rotor flight dynamics models for FlightGear. With all the people out there designing, building, and flying multi-rotors, I get questions periodically about how well (or if) FlightGear can support these. The answer of course is yes, sure, but someone still has to go through the work of doing the detailed modeling.

It's an expensive hobby. I got out of it quickly and stayed with fixed-wings. Much cheaper.

Took me a while to find this one, but if you liked the above, you'll love this:

Would a 21 pound AUW, 2 meter diameter rotor, RC Turbine helicopter work for you?

Not easy to get YAsim to create a 3D rotor that flies inverted.

Since I got introduced to flight simulations by making 3D and FM models for an R/C simulator, I've been doing this since 2001.

Lesterboffo: that looks like fun, is the model available anywhere? I can fly RC helicopters well enough to hover tail in ...

sure!
where's the download link ?

I did use Heli-X ( http://www.heli-x.info/cms/ )
would be cool to use Flightgear for 3D RC-Heli practice.

It's still a WIP, there are some FDM bugs needing work.
