Model preparation and wind tunnel testing of Stratos 714, a very light jet.

Note the use of china clay to visualize the flow. I have never seen that technique before.

How about some target practice. Would you be the pilot of the target? :?

Transonic Flight (20 min)

Very educational. Covers lots of aspects of transonic aerodynamic effects like, wave drag, bow, normal and oblique shock waves, why transonic and supersonic aircraft often uses all-moving elevators etc.

When and how Wild Weasels started flying. Too interesting to not post.

That made for a good watch.

Well, I'm sure glad my dumb AA models can't shoot my simulated fighter down... I'm not sure I could handle the trauma of hitting Shift+Esc :D

Interesting and typically human that someone would try to push against some hundred tons of metal drifting in the wind...

Yeah that was pretty funny, I LOLed at that (pushing the plane back). I was thinking that when it turned into the baggage loader, it probably dinged the fuselage. Do they usually check the planes at the slightest dings, or what. From some of those videos I've seen (the ones throwing luggage into the plane, you know the ones) I always wonder, when the luggage hits the side of the fuselage, do they stop the entire flight and transfer the passengers to another plane, or do they just fly it like that.

Speaking of dings and dents - anyone ever watched the movie Mall Cop? It was pretty funny, but I wanna point out something near the end of the movie, where the hero had a fight with the bad guy near the wing of the business jet ( i forget what jet it was, but it was really new-looking), the suitcase they were fighting over flew to the side of the fuselage and made a VERY VISIBLE dent on the wing to fuselage area. At that point i was like  and the rest of the movie I kept wondering what happened to the plane

Oddly enough, there was no mention of this anywhere on the internet. You'd think with some sites pointing out all the tiniest movie mistakes or points of interest, but there's none.

UPDATE: according tothis site, it's a Cessna 650 Citation III Registration N650LA, serial 0004. No mention of dent.
