there's 8 rotors on that craft... four on the top of each lifting arm rotating one way and four below them counter rotating the other way... i assume the props have reversed blades for the ones on the bottom and the whole layout is for better/easier stabilization...

UFO flight model ?

Why not model it like in real life ?

UFO flight model, why not use a yellow glider as the 3d ?

Tesla battery 90kWh
375Volts = 240Ah
8 axial flux electric motors = 30Ah per motor

The opening scene reminds me very much of Star Wars.

The difference is, it was mirrors masking the wheels then and real flying now.

Well, obviously be our guest - but speaking in general, open source works such that people make a ton of concessions and compromises and then incrementally update/improve things over time.
Obviously, a proper FDM or even just a proper 3D model would be more work than using an animated walker in a deck chair

'Be our guest' ?

Well you know the old saying. "If you want something done, do it yourself"

Now I'm quite happy to offer advice and guidance, maybe have a friendly open debate as to how to go about solving some of the fdm requirements.

The open source way doesn't mean you have to produce low quality first.

Anyone who has owned or flown a drone has been wondering, what took so long?

Component wise, it really shouldn't be all that expensive, even though it will be.

I wonder,

What's the range?
Why no demos at a higher altitude?

I like this ones simplicity.
