Glass cockpits are pretty cool and efficient, I just wouldn't like to see them on classics like the 757 or the A300.

Actually, that is how the Canvas-based FG1000 came to be: https://wiki.flightgear.org/FG1000

Specifically, a former FlightGear core developer (and licensed pilot) raised the issue on the FlightGear mailing list, suggesting "The airspace system is in the process of changing drastically": https://wiki.flightgear.org/Complex_Canvas_Avionics

This was back in 2017, and it's basically what motivated Stuart to start prototyping the FG1000 using primarily Nasal scripting and the Canvas system: https://wiki.flightgear.org/FG1000#Motivation

legoboyvdlp there's nothing at all wrong with them, in fact I would prefer to use a glass cockpit than a traditional steam gauge cockpit. It's just that planes like the 757 look so good with just the steam gauges.
