Tested again. Looks like same results. The older mumble build still works as expected. The latest sources allowed me to connect but it doesn't work with RadioGUI or flightgear.

The bug in the latest mumble client seems to be fixed now. The latest plugin code still work with that, so just mumble needs to be updated.

I uploaded updated mumble 1.4.0 AppImages and Windows installers from the plugins branch:

- Win32: http://fgcom.hallinger.org/Windows%20%2 ... taller.zip
- Win64: http://fgcom.hallinger.org/Windows%20%2 ... taller.zip
- Linux64 AppImage: http://fgcom.hallinger.org/AppImage.zip

mill-j and i had a historic moment today: the first live radio transmission between two humans (separated by the atlantic).
It basicly worked, but we fond some issues:

  • The newest mumble client still has the issue with freezing, however on a different place (already reported to mumble devs)
  • mill-j did hear me, but my voice was choppy. This was reproducable with the 910-test. Strangely, my end was always good, mill-j was never choppy when he talked to me.
Maybe that is caused by client version mismatch, or internet connection issues (it was not so stable in the US, and the server is located in germany, like me)

So, it looks like mill-j and I were able to fix the choppyness and also the freezing issues.
Following we will do more testing and then probably it’s time for a new release!

This will probably also bring support for 32bit windows systems (there is just the test outstanding and if we have luck it has no issues).

Cool, this evening mill-j and I did some traffic patterns at KHUF (Terre Haute Intl) for about 1.5 hrs.
We talked mainly on it's UNICOM (122.95) and that worked flawlessly for the entire session.
After the flights we tried switching frequencies, which worked good.
Finally I also pulled and pushed my avionics circuit breaker to test signal interruption;: the signal went silent like expected and i was able to pick it up again once the electrical power was reestablished (i did this with the upcoming simplified protocol file).

So, this looks very promising and good! :)
Now it would be good to have a broader testing with more pilots, so we actually get some traffic on the net :)

I will do another release shortly to push out the important bug fixes (mumble freezes and stuttering).

Maybe we can establish KHUF as our the testing airport - it has several runways (one equipped with ILS), several frequencies?
This far we always tested at 2100UTC on random days.

FGFS FRQ list is:
  • 127.50 ATIS
  • 122.95 UNICOM
  • 121.60 GND
  • 118.90 TWR
  • 119.80 APP/DEP
  • 125.45 APP/DEP

A ground net chart is here: https://www.aopa.org/destinations/airports/KHUF
Sectional: https://skyvector.com/?ll=39.4465864621 ... =undefined
(The real life Taxiway Foxtrott is still a runway in FGFS :))
The NDB southwest at 245kHz and the VORTAC northeast at 115.30 is still current.

@benih maybe we should find a more up to date airport for the default? I did not realise how out of date KHUF currently is. Maybe use the default for the latest flightgear?

We also can do that - whatever suits us :)
With "latest", do you refer to "next" or "stable"?

@benih FYI, I have refactored small pieces in the ATC-pie code recently which, although barely, touched the RDF antenna positioning for example. So whenever you are at this, a quick check from you of my latest (dev) will be welcome, with your latest version & set-up.

Released 0.10.0: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/r ... g/v.0.10.0
This brings some smaller improvements, but most importantly:
it fixes the mumble client freezes occuring with more recent mumble builds.

See the release link for a detailed changelog.

This version seems overall stable and usable. 8)

Hi Benih

(win 7 64bit) I've got mumble 1.4.0 snapshot and got both the client and server and copied the .dll into the plugins folder but I can't see the plugin within mumbles settings. Has anyone got his working on windows?
