The command "map" only works if your current directory is wherever Atlas is installed to, which should be c:\Program Files\FlightGear\bin\win32\ or something like that (obviously I'm giving you the Windows version instead of the Linux version)... hopefully that helps you some...

the directory i indicated is the directory where flightgear is installed, which is what was told in the wiki.

try replacing all program files with Progra~1.

And also check whether the atlas and map executables are there in C:\Program Files\FlightGear\bin\win32 ....or ur directory in which fgfs exists...

i tried it again and it worked for me......

hope that helps

yes they are, i also just saw that i had forgotten to copy
Next copy the data files seperately...don't copy the folders...copy each file and place it in the respective sub-directory.
but it still doesn't work. i'm quite lost...

The only thing i can suggest u is u go for the default install...then get me screenshots of the following folders/lines:
    Flightgear/bin/win32
    Flightgear/data
A screenshot after each line of typing the code(take screenshot before u press enter)
    Finally, the error, (if any)

Maps

Postby jethari » Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:33 am

Hi guys
I've also been trying to create maps from the scenery files, but its not working. These are the errors I'm getting:

Written 'c:\progra~1\flightgear\data\atlas/e078n13.png'
WARNING: fntLoadTXF: Failed to open 'C:\FlightGear\data/Fonts/helvetica_medium.t
xf' for reading.
Could not read palette from file "C:\FlightGear\data/AtlasPalette".
No palette loaded.
Written 'c:\progra~1\flightgear\data\atlas/e076n11.png'

Though the .png files have been created, they are only black squares. The size of the squares vary according the --size=xx parameter.

dear Kailingkazak
the "map" command has to be given from within the flightgear/bin/win32 folder. This folder must contain the map.exe and atlas.exe files.

OK, got it finally. I extracted the "AtlasPalette" file from the "Atlas-0.3.0.tar.gz" archive and placed it in the flightgear\data folder. The maps have been created perfectly.
