The Honda jet fiasco

Postby Delta5142 » Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:37 am

Hello all,

I'm just curious, I've heard a lot about the infamous "honda jet" legal incident in 2014 that flightgear was charged with, what actually happened that time?

Somebody from Honda in somewhere silly departament got in contact to Helijah's hangar denying the use of the brand name for FG, So we removed the screen splash made by me and the model made by Emmanuel.
I believe Mr. Barenger answer to the remitent, then Helijah released a public note to inform us Was Curtis who received the advise.

So nothing special, nor a fiasco. Perhaps uncurrent bored assistant try to accomplish the job in the most Imperial hermetic jappanesse tradition style. Who knows, however we respect the decision.

Honda jet is not for FG.

Perhaps Honda car is for FG'ers.

if they don't aggressively pursue violations, they stand to loose they trademark/copyright... in this case, they perceived a violation and pursued it... it is their right...

Yes because engineering companies throughout the world lose their copyright/trademarks all the time through people producing very simply 3d models.

3d bucket basement is responsible for the transfer of multiple copyrights such as the international space-station and the statue of liberty

it might have gone differently if permission had been requested first... we'll never know, now...
