2020.3.2 - thank you devs

Postby msalama » Sun Nov 29, 2020 7:11 am

Are there no threads about the new version anywhere or am I just blind? Anyway, thanks for the v2020.3.2 all, runs much smoother on my computer at least, and while my customized 2018.3.2 C172P was a bit of a chore to set up, it now runs flawlessy so I'm all good. So thanks again all for a job well done!

There never was a need to have separate forum threads for different versions since the latest release was normally just a snapshot of the development version.

This time thing are different though, the next version will become a lot more modern in key areas which also means it might take a bit longer than before to make it into a release version.

At this time the estimation for the next release is approximately two years from now.

But isn't 2020.3.2 a new stable and not just another dev snapshot?

they all come from dev snapshots ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Yeah, but it's still not JUST a dev snapshot. So why the dearth of heads-up and congratulatory messages far and wide?

...or perhaps, as the man (RIP), insinuated back in the day long, long ago... low profile ;)

Most developers are satisfied when something they created works the way they want it to. And if people use it that's already a sign of accomplishment. A pat on the back is nice once in awhile but not really necessary.

But, on behalf of all developers: thanks!
