Biggest small airport in the world

Postby Gijs » Wed May 11, 2011 9:35 am

Kinda confusing title, but after seeing the video you'll know what I mean ;)
It's been opened this week, after six years of work! For facts, take a look at http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com/exhi ... land-facts (scroll down to 8th section).

Ah it's finally finished :D I saw it when it wasn't completed.. It's so impressive how they've worked it all out under the table and how the vehicles compute not to collide etc. When I last looked, the vehicles kept crashing at the airport because it was incomplete. They have lots of updates on youtube :) Good to see it's completed :D No doubt they have some crazy more ideas for their miniature world.

Nice, they even made the Lufthansa retrojet :D

That Aeroflot Tu-154 needs to go though as Aeroflot dumped their Tu-154 fleet at the end of 2009, but then again they do have Thai A380s in this and Thai's first A380 has yet to be built...

The level of detail is simply amazing. An uneducated person could easily confuse this for a real airport. I mean, with all the plane models arriving, departing, taxiing around, all the airport vehicles moving around as well, just digitally edit out the poles that move the everything around and there ya go

The Wunderland website says there are 200,000 figurines in their miniature world. Judging by an episode of Paul Merton in Europe I just watched, at least 1/4 of them are engaged in miscellaneous sexual acts. There seems to be a couple (or more) shagging behind every bush. My favorite was a '65 Mustang convertible with an unambiguous animation happening in the back seat.

I salute the Braun brothers for their uninhibited sense of humor!
