I guess we could dig around the devel list, and see what's happening there.

Just curious: when does the next CVS start? THAT would be worth mentioning: "Work begins on next version".

Mattt: unfortunately, this guy/girl (lol) can't get 20 years in prison for having the same username as you. If he had stolen your credit card (which happened to my mother), that'd be another thing.

CVS is constant. There is no "next start". It's the current state of development at any time.

No, I'm well aware whoever hijacked my identity won't be executed by electricity, etc. As long as s/he is found and dealt with as appropriate, I'll be satisfied. In case you hadn't noticed, though, *nothing* is going to deter me from chasing it down, so there's no point trying to throw water on the fire, as it were :-)

Did your mother let up about her credit card (despite the fact that her financial institution is bound by law (I assume - they all are in Australia) to repay her the funds lost)? I also have a credit card - can you guarantee me that this breach won't lead to that being compromised as well? Or any of my other accounts?

I'm not saying that I think this issue would lead to any of that (nor am I saying it won't - anyone with the moral fortitude to do this is obviously not a person worthy of any kind of trust or "benefit of the doubt")... But it's very, very wrong nonetheless. I've been in this game (commercially) for about 20 years now. As stated, I'm not going to just let it drop :-)

Cheers,
Mattt.

I wish you the best of luck in your search for this other "matt". But most likely, I wouldn't worry too much about the integrity of your other accounts- it was probably just an immature member trying to be funny............

Some sense of humour.

Oh well, I've concluded that the vandal is probably not from the U.S. but that's all I found.

It's "Mattt", actually. And I'm not (in this instance) too worried about my "other accounts"...

And you're likely right - just an immature member... Now, where would one, under the circumstances, look for those? Oh yeah! I know!.......

(Hint for those not following the forum very closely and up to the minute - viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7313&p=72590#p72590).

Now seriously, grow up and / or back off. I'm tiring of this crap.

Cheers,
Mattt.

No, Tom - between the very concept of identity theft, and the crap that's ensued in this forum, my sense of humour has worn *very* thin.

Hmm... This all sounds a bit underhand.
Anyway, I am pleased it appears to be being resolved and that mattt's adopted such a sensible stance on it.

I did not read the stuff being discussed here. But although a very new member to this 'community', I have been very very impressed with the general helpfulness and decorum shown. - Let's hope it stays that way without the nasty bits. :D

I would also like to add that someone mentioned the possibility of new scenery coming up very soon. Is there any chance this might be discussed in the next newsletter?

On the other hand, it may be that I am out of date and that something has already been discussed about it; in which case, I'd be very grateful if someone could direct me to any such discussion. Thanks.

Hello Chocboy. A couple of things...

1) How do I get to the April Newsletter? I cannot see it, which is why I chose to ask my question on this one. - It appears to be the latest.
2) You asked for suggestions about what to discuss in it. Therefore, if scenery has not already been discussed, I was suggesting we discuss it. On the other hand, if it has been discussed somewhere already, I am asking to be pointed in that direction.

If either of these points are incorrect to be raised here:
a/ I don't understand why.
b/ I've already mentioned that I am new to this forum, which I am trying to use correctly.

So far everyone else has been very helpful. Thanks
