I see. I read the news letter after it was officialy released so I didn't see it. Well done to the moderators (and anyone else involved) for removing it hastily :)

Ok, we've established that we had an issue and hope it doesn't happen again..... but maybe we should move on and discuss the good stuff? Like what to write about for April? It just seems kind of time-wasting griping on an insignificant individual's actions. I'm wondering: what do you guys think should be included in April's newsletter so far? I'm thinking TGA when its event happens, but in the case of development?

Sorry, ChocBoy, but not gonna happen. That is to say I'm happy to cease discussing it (I only have been because others have been), but there's no way on $deity's green earth that I'll drop it until it's resolved to the fullest.

To clarify (as so often seems to need doing around here :p), I'm not at all talking about the published content or development discussion - that resolved itself almost immediately. I'm talking about the theft of my identity.

The subject matter, admittedly, hardly matters (note: "hardly", not "doesn't at all"). But *any* identity theft is plain wrong. Very, very wrong. There are task forces set up all over the world who's job it is to investigate and prosecute these kinds of cases.

If you don't think it matters, shoot me your bank login details over PM ;-)

As I said in a previous post - the individual in question could, and should, have kept it personal. At least that was merely a bunch of unnecessary crap. Identity fraud, at any level, goes *way* beyond that...

Cheers,
Mattt.

Yup - the TGA event should certainly be reported on in the next newsletter. As long as my landings are left alone... Honest! It's a problem with my hardware or software setup, I swear!

At least I can still get them on the ground horizontally and without resultant fires, but I wish could get it sorted...

Cheers,
Mattt.

TransGear is defenitely worth to be mentioned. In the past newsletters, we often had a (small) report of that month's event.

Development stuff that could be included:
- new aircraft.
- highly updated aircraft.
- new populated airport.
- custom landclassing project (like Dubai).
- new/enhanced features (like the route manager being updated).

And some other things to write about:
- new mp server.
- wiki/forum news: new moderator, 4.000.000th visitor (ca. 6 months to go for the wiki) etc.
- a new FG website, like the livery database.
- addons (like FGCom and the MP latency checker).

Creative ideas are always welcome!

Hopefully, by the deadline for the April issue, I'll have some major texture work completed and have a bit to write about that :)

There have also been some very interesting developments on the devel-list that I hope would be ready for at least a public mention by that point as well, although that part won't be up to me at all.

It will definitely be interesting to see what kind of progress we make in the next month as this newsletter was chock full of information!

Errr... New moderator? Or are you referring to the wiki? Else, you were already mentioned in the current (March) newsletter :-)

Lol - If you were referring to the wiki, I hope the new moderator isn't "me" :p

Nope, the forum. I know I was mentioned, afterall the stuff posted above is just for getting ideas on what to write. It is not a list of ideas for the April edition ;)

If I'd found more time over time over the last ~month, you'd have been able to write about http://fgva.mattts.net :-(

Oh well... there's always the next one...

I (in my less than infinite wisdom, but in my possibly infinite curiosity) have started looking into who may have done the identity theft, and the vandalism that followed it.

Well, thanks for the help, but there's no need for that. The wiki admin and I are already investigating the case, as we have to power to match forum and wiki date...
