Flightgear 2017.1.3 Released

Postby Necolatis » Wed Apr 05, 2017 8:40 pm

Since nobody else was posting it, I thought I would:

Flightgear 2017.1.3 Released

It can be downloaded here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/flight ... se-2017.1/

From Torsten's posting on the mailing-list:

Changes included are
- for simgear
* a bug in handling log messages eventually triggered log unrequested popup
windows

- for flightgear
* fixed bugs #1703 and #1939
* correct runway selection depending on weather provided with --metar
* fixed a couple of launcher issues
* fixed the NIL weather bug when running with live-weather
* fixed a bug with handling of integer factors in the generic protocol
* renamed option --log-file to --log-dir

- for fgdata
* restore display of live metar data in the weather dialog

And of course the latest scenery models and objects for the Bergen area
from the scenemodels database.

Should this version not be named 2017.2.1 instead?

No.
2017.1.3 means February, point release number 3.
2017.2.1 means May, point release number 1.

I fail to understand the logic... .1 means february, .2 means May?

1 means first major release in the year; 2 means second. The last digit is the patch level/bugfix release number. Seems fairly logical to me.

thanks. The previous answer that ' .1 means february, .2 means May' is just roast potatoes.

In fact it 's not. First major release is scheduled in february (1), than may(2), august(3) and november(4). The last digit is indeed for small bugfix releases.
