Hehe, my request isn't so much for v2.4 but more for the next world scenery build.

Any idea when the Mac release candidate might appear? We've got less than two weeks left and it would be nice to subject the OS X release candidate to a bit of testing before the official release of 2.4.0.

C* ATI might be the only problem. You have finally OpenGL 4.1 on Lion?

I think there are lots of testers; the problem is there's nothing to test.

Thanks to Tat, we now also have a Mac release candidate for FG2.4.0:
http://macflightgear.sourceforge.net/page/1/

Now all Mac users can join: please download, install, run - and test...

That's the same as the GIT and/or Hudson build versions?

I have had a peculiar thing happen on the Mac 2.4.0 candidate. I wonder if it is just my mac, so I would appreciate someone else trying to repeat this.

Using an Intel iMac with OS X 10.5.8.
I tried the first launch at my chosen airport. There was no scenery. This was expected.
I waited for a minute, then closed FG and started again - still no scenery.
After the 4th try without scenery, I started at KSFO and got scenery.
I then started at my chosen airport and the scenery appeared.

I suspect Terrasync was not loading 'On the fly'. This appeared to be rectified after I used the default airport.

If anyone could repeat this, it would confirm it as a reportable bug.

Feedback welcomed.

Cheers,
Vic
p.s. With my setup, I still get dark images in FG. FG was nice and bright up to and including V2.0.0. I have experienced the dimmer/darker effect ever since FG started using OSG.

The Mac Launcher will not load for me; it exits as soon as it appears in the Dock. I can launch fgfs from the Console, though. This is in 10.6.8 (.1).

I've notified Tat, and we're working on it.

Again, I might be getting this because of my Mac, but has any other Mac user noticed FG to be noticeably darker/dimmer since OSG arrived?

About the dimmer effect: I haven't noticed anything.

I encountered these issues on an Intel iMac with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion):
-There is an arrow on the HUD which, I presume, is a new feature, but it's flashing randomly all the time
-TerraSync doesn't seem to work (I tried some airports with the on-the-fly download feature on but even after restarting several times there was no scenery), but the scenery at KSFO works
-This issue really makes me sad: MULTIPLAYER STILL WON'T WORK... Even after trying the "solutions" given in the topics about the multiplayer on mac issue (leaving the IP address blank, inputting command-line options), I still have the same problem: FlightGear doesn't start up after checking the multiplayer box (but the multiplayer map shows up), and if I put in a command-line that should activate multiplayer, FlightGear starts up without going online. Does anyone have a real solution for this? MP hasn't worked on my Mac since the release of 2.0.0...
-I don't see any jetways at KSFO... And certainly no animated ones.

Nonetheless, I really like this release. It works quite fluid, the new sky and sea are beautiful, as are the clouds and the new taxiways etc. Thumbs up for Tat & the other developers :D
Nothing better than the elegance of flying.
