mpcarrier in GIT

Postby someguy » Mon Oct 18, 2010 4:00 am

I discovered today that after landing on another user's mpcarrier in GIT, the plane does not sync to the deck if the ship is underway. Instead, it's stationary relative to the ocean, and the carrier steams out from under it. Ditto even after the holdback is engaged. This occurred with several of Dave Culp's JSBsim models that work fine in 2.0.

More humorously, the PBY thinks the carrier deck is water, and sinks up to the plane's waterline when landing. Even throws a roostertail.

I think that may be a JSBsim error. JSBsim by default can't tell the difference between terrains. Being that multiplayer carriers are a pretty beta thing, I don't think that they are supported by JSBsim, at least yet. Try using an mpcarrier with a YASim craft such as the F-14B and see if the results are different. I think that would confirm my thoughts. Hope that helped. :)

This was supposed to have been fixed with the latest JSBSim code.
