It's only fun and games until someone takes it too seriously. :D  8)

IIRC it is being counted by when the flight starts/ends, thats why it may be >7days

If you have a good version of FlightGear and a good aircraft with a good autopilot you can do what I have seen someone describe doing: Plan a flight that takes about as much time as work/school + trip there and home, and one for when you are asleep. Manually take off and land, but let the aircraft do its thing while you are busy or asleep.
Low-level flying — It's all fun and games till someone looses an engine. (Paraphrased from a YouTube video)

Or ask the shuttle people. They should beat you on distance covered aswell ;-) But I doubt you'd find any of them on MP...

There are airplanes that can fly more than 12 hours and some of them are capable of in-air refueling.

I think I figured that out a few months in. Good way to pass the time if your autopilot can handle the airplane turning into a glider.

Correct. For example, one made a flight from 03.05.2020 0000UTC till 09.05.2020 2355UTC, then make another flight from 09.05.2020 2358UTC to 11.05.2020 2357UTC, flight time of the week of 03.05.2020-09.05.2020 would be 8 days 23hours 57minutes.
