Ah, then the DDoS on DynDNS clearly had little to do with it.

KB7 wrote in Mon Oct 31, 2016 11:50 pm:I take it that the servers really aren't all that coordinated? (and/or nobody else can spin up the tracker software on a different server?)

Yep, and unfortunately yep. Anyone can set up a MPServer, and it is up to each maintainer how to configure it and what other servers should be connected. Most probably only the maintainer can restart it. Also, the archived flights are probably local.

So all the flights made during the down time haven't been/won't be tracked?

It's impossible to say for sure, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I have tried PMing hazuki, on 28/10/16 But haven't had any reply as of yet. So it seems we are all in the dark on the problem with Flightgear Tracker & Planner until such time hazuki can enlighten us all

As above, but if you look at the thread when this happened before, all the data was recorded and fed correctly once the bug was fixed. This one, of course, may be different. I notice that the MP15 server is listed as being actually DOWN in the tracker splash page now. Don't know what, if anything, that implies for the tracker other than it isn't a good sign.

And, thanks to Hazuki for maintaining the system! It's been such a great part of FG that it's hard to imagine multiplayer flying without it!

Nice! And flights that happened while the tracker was down were recorded still.
