sudo netstat -apn | grep 5000
It showed it to be 1245/asterisk
This command showed me the PID locking the port
FGCom uses asterisk.
If it would happen again or if you could replicate the fault consistently, consider adding a bug report.
Ohhhhhhhh ok, I obviously saw that but it didn't make sense to me.
I'll keep that in mind and will report a bug if it happens consistently. Thanks for letting me know.
I think, what made me most mad about it was that I was communicating with a tower controller, got to the point where i was going to hold short of the runway, and then i heard the sudden crash sound. turned out i drove into a taxiway sign. didn't know they clipped the planes. then i couldn't get back on to start my flight.
i got to do it later after i fixed it and now in the middle of the atlantic.
