Weird multiplayer problem

Postby belac » Sun May 22, 2011 2:22 am

So, I've been trying to fly using the WiFi at a hotel, and it seems to be working fine except that there are no other planes at the airport, and when I go through all the servers on the map, I'm not there. The network dropdown is there, but when I go to chat, it's just me. I turned multiplayer off for a little while earlier while I was traveling, but then I turned it back on when I arrived. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it, because I could really use some help.

Perhaps the hotel's firewall is blocking port 5000.

Seems likely. Oh, well. I go home again today, so I guess I'll just have to go without it for the rest of the day.

So, it's happening again. Sam problems as before, but this time, I'm at home, where it has worked before. Also, the it isn't letting anything be done to the port 5000 box. I wouldn't change it, but It doesn't matter, because I can't. Is that normal?

Hi Belac,

By curiosity I just checked if my multiplayer setup works. I'm also using port 5000 and it works fine. I did change servers from 02 to 05 because I was seeing everybody...

I just tried 5 again and it didn't work. I tried all the servers, I don't show up at all on the map, and I don't see any other planes when i check the pilot list in the simulator.

Hi Belac,
Just a question...are you on a Mac ? if so go in the network menu in the launching box, and remove your IP address (as you disconnect from your box and connect in hotel, your IP changes on Mac, then back home your box attributes sometimes a new one...just leave empty the IP box at start up.
Good luck
Cheers

Hey Belac,
Thx for the feedback. Just two little little things:
when you post a request in Support subforum you should always put your System and FG specification ( OS, Graphic card...and so on).

Also as now its solved, edit your pot and click on green flag to mark the topic as solved :)
it will help others having same problems and save time to Gijs.

Thanks a lot
cheers
