navigation question

Hi all

last weekend I installed flightgear and am hooked now I didnt fly since ms flightsim 3 (or something) under ms dos so my flying was a bit rusty

anyway, i got a question about navigation.I heard about "atlas" but from what I understood its not available on windows, is that correct?

ive been googling and did some search on the forum but couldnt find any nice maps with all airports and vor/ndb beacons. then I found the airnav faq (http://www.flightgear.org/Docs/AirNav/A ... tGear.html) and thought I could do one myself. I was thinking of creating a custom map or to import pinpoints to microsoft mappoint.

All I want is a list of airports and vor/ndb/dme that is easy to pan/zoom/search in order to plan my flight from A to B. Is there such a thing already? If yes, where? I can't imagine im the only one who needs this, and cant imagine there's no solution either

one little off-topic question as well: I downloaded all england but cant find the big airports like heathrow, gatwick etc in the list? I do have Hull and some other little ones..

You could use the online multiplayer map:

When you're on multiplayer (http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Howto:_Multiplayer), it even shows your own position

Atlas should work on windows as far as I know.
You can use the mpmap or the flight planner.
