How to edit payload on FGUK DaVinci Aircraft

When I was browsing the FGUK site, I saw that the F-35A and B had different payload configs on their thumbnails compared to their in-game payload. Is there any way I can change the switch up the equipped missiles?

you would need to add the items you want to the payload xml file. You would also need to add the new items to the list of available payload items in the set file. And you would also need to position the new models using the xyz settings ( also in the payload xml file ).

Is there an example of how I can remove them? Or should I just do trial and error?

If you make a copy of the file´s you are safe to do work on them. Also when all is working to your satisfaction you can compare your modified file(s) with the originals and post your changes.

Do I need to compile the main coding for the airplane after editing the payload.xml file?

No.
Just restart Flightgear.
The Menu Debug --> Reload Aircraft Model may work instead, and if it does is much quicker.

So I've deleted all the external stores and kept the internal stores, but I still can't get rid of the external stores in-game. What do I do?
