Actually all you need to do with the mouse is practice - neither the absence of winds not auto-coordination are really important. I can fly helicopters fine with the mouse (there auto-coordination would be absolutely crippling) and land them on the spot, so there's really not much you desperately would need a stick for.

I use the mouse to fly and I am able to land pretty well most of the time. (Mouse is way better than arrow keys. I once used them and it is really hard to fly with.)
Just practice. Also, the HUD is very helpful when flying with mouse. Although, I try not to use it too much as I think it is cheating.

IMHO, use flightsim with mouse is bit silly. There are many cheap joysticks on the market...

Right, so just keep that opinion to yourself and let the rest of us fly as we prefer. Nobody cares how you think sims should be flown.

I also fly helicopters with the mouse … I'll consider getting some rudder pedals somewhere in the future though !

Yes, rudder pedals are perfect sim hardware. I use joystick with twisting handle mapped to the rudder and tiller, it works very nice. But in the EASA 737 NGX training device (3 years ago) I had problems with rudder steering, my landing in strong gusty crosswind was not very ideal. With more experience with pedals at home, decrab on touchdown would be much better.
Fly Bus or 737 to Paro with pedals must be much easier than with twisting joystick handle.
