EC135 tail rotor seems not working

Postby omnibus1 » Mon Apr 26, 2021 3:38 am

Hallo,

trying to fly the ec135 it starts spinning to the right unstoppable. In fact the rudder does not seem to work. Looking at the animation from outside, the tail rotor does not spin, either.Does anyone else have this problem? What can I do?

Cheers

Do you have experience in flying helicopters? Because if you do not, it's quite normal that they spin madly, it's quite difficult to prevent it with just the right amount of rudder.

Well, all the other models I can fly more or less well, best the BO105. Even the EC130 though it is much harder. That is why I developed the idea there is something wrong with that type. At least in my installation or equipment. I hoped someone could tell me "push this knob", "go to this conf file" or something.

Cheers

Its not got a good animation on the Fan.
Did a test hover. Slight left pedal, 30% Back cyclic, 10% left cyclic. This holds a hover IGE under 10ft.

Well, that is not the problem. It seems the rudder 0 position is somehow shift far to the right. No matter how much left rudder I give, as soon as the skids leave the ground the heli starts turning right and cannot be stopped turning. If I give right rudder the turning speed increases. Giving left rudder slows it down. So the heli reacts to my rudder but not sufficiently and the 0 point seems to be set much too far to the right. But why? Why only this model? I use the same Joystick satisfyingly with all other helis.

Try this.
Before flight press Ctrl D and turn the SAS off, and see if it gets better or worse.

This has no effect. What is SAS anyway?

Its a Stabilisation system in some helicopters.
What are you using to fly it with ?

Thrustmaster Throttle TWS with pedals for collective and rudder, Logitech Wingman Force 3D (without force feedback) for cyclic.

those should work ok.
Try resetting the trim before you start the engines. Press 5 on the numbers along the top of the keyboard.

Another note: Make sure that your engines are fully running, i.e. not in IDLE mode but in FLIGHT mode. Too low engine power may be the reason for the tail rotor not working sufficiently

This might be the problem. I used autostart before. Going through manual startup I noticed I can only switch from off to idle. But I cannot perform switching to flight with these knobs in the cockpit. How is this achieved?

it? whats is this "it" you speak of? Justin Case someone else has the same problem ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

See the two posts before. I did not switch the motors from idle to fly. For that you have to click with the mouse on top of the switch base in the main control panel.
