Example/definition of Level D SID/STAR format

Postby RogerBW » Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:50 pm

I am a cheapskate, so I don't want to subscribe to Navigraph (particularly since I remember when they were free). I'm interested in converting UK SID/STAR data from the UK AIP. But while the wiki talks about "Level D" format, it doesn't give an example or definition.

Is such an example or definition available, so that I can code up my own versions from publicly-available data?

(I am a reasonably competent programmer, happy to muck about with file formats, etc.)

Looks as if viewtopic.php?f=25&t=29532 covers this…

It turns out there is a wiki page describing the format, it is just that there was no links to it, so you practically have to stumble over it to find it. Howto:Add procedures to the route manager (permalink).

Thanks! That doesn't go into e.g. details of the Type parameter when it's not "Normal", but it's a good start.

I also tried to figure out where the code lives, and the closest I got was https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/fl ... idstar.cxx, but judging from the properties mentioned, for example "gear-down", "flaps-down" and "on-ground", it seems it is related to the AI traffic.
