f14-b automatic flight on a specific route

Postby emrcnort » Tue Dec 10, 2019 10:00 pm

Hello to everyone,
I'm using an F14-B type aircraft. I want the aircraft to fly spontaneously on a route I've set. I tried using a route manager for this, but I couldn't get the plane to move by itself.
What am I missing? Is there any way to achieve this?

I flew the F-14 once. It wasn't my cup of tea.

However, this page may be of some assistance.

Check out the Autopilot Heading mode. It describes how to do what you want (I think).

My F-14 does have the ability to follow a route; just load the route up in rout manager, trim the aircraft for level flight and then engage the autopilot with keystrokes, CTRL-T CTRL-A CTRL-H CTRL-H

Beware that the autopilot is allegedly better at flying into the ground than following a route - it's not really something the autopilot was designed to do - so it's essential that the pilot monitor the aircraft at all times when autopilot is engaged.
