Displaying full panel

Postby Kate01 » Thu Nov 28, 2019 3:33 pm

Hi
I’m brand new to this software. I previously used Microsoft flight sim, but can’t anymore as I’ve upgraded to windows 10

I only ever used it for practicing instrument flying & use to have it set just displaying the full panel.

I’ve installed the sim & had a play around with it, but can’t work out how to get the full panel display.

How do I do this with the flightgear software? Any help appreciated!

welcome to flightgear world!

there are different ways to achieve this.

in principle most planes have a 3d-cockpit, so there is no dedicated pure panel view.

when flying the c172 there is a special ifr training view included. you will find it, when you switch between the views with key v. the aircraft is however not the most stable ifr-platform.

on any aircraft you can hold right button of mouse plus crtl-key you can move the view point up and down until you are happy with a panel only view. if you want to have this view permanently, you can edit the viewpoint in the corresponding files of the aircraft.

Kate01 :
I used FSX Acceleration on Win10 without any trouble. It runs better on 64bit Win 10 than on 32 bit Win 7.
