Flight Planner, Performance Calculator

Postby Icarus (Greek Wings) » Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:39 am

Hi there,

I'd really like to hear your suggestions about which flight planner and performance calculator to use. They could be a website or a software or something..

For example, me, I have been using flightplandatabase.com as a flight planner (which offers the possibility to download route and load it directy on Flightgear), TPC Performance Calculator (a free downloadable software which concerns only all models of Airbus) to calculate take off speeds and fuelplanner.com to calculate trip fuels separately. The thing is that I wonder if something better is available. Do you have something in mind??

Note that they both should be as realistic, accurate and up-to-date as possible!

Kind regards,
George

Thanks for answering guys..

Simbrief.com seems good, I'll definitely give it a try. Wabpro.cz is an alternative to TPC Perfomance Tool but it still concerns Airbus. What about the other aircrafts, like Boeings, MD11 etc??

*Update: After a short research, I figured out that there is TOPCAT, a good quality and reliable performance software which calculates the performance of various aircrafts, including those I mentioned before. It's payware, though.. Any freeware alternatives to TOPCAT??

Kind regards,
George

I use www.onlineflightplanner.org, and a self written Excel tool to calculate fuel and log my flights. But I like to use skyvector to modify my flightplan.

@Isaak @George
I recommend SimBreif, because his flight plans are more close to real. You will also get fuel calculate, (but I recommend you add some extra for safety) and weights if you select the aircraft. It's free, just need to register, but I recommend it and use it for my VATSIM flight too.

Kind Regards,

And i will add to this that after making the FP with simbrief, you can be redirect to Skyvector website where u will be able to download directly FP file in gpx format which is directly loadable into the route manager .... and that save really lot's of time ...:)
